          Abstract

The production of habanero pepper (Capsicum chinense Jacq.) in Mexico continues to be relevant. Bokashi is an organic fertilizer that can be used to fertilize the soil and increase plant growth and productivity. The objective was to evaluate different doses of the organic fertilizer bokashi in the cultivation of habanero peppers of the Jaguar variety under organic and chemical production systems. Four treatments of 0.00, 1.00, 2.00 and 3.00 t ha-1 of bokashi were established, the zero treatment was used as a control, and these treatments were applied under both conventional and organic production systems. The design used was a randomized complete block design with four replications; the agronomic management of the crop was according to the technological package generated at INIFAP. The data obtained from the agronomic variables of plant and fruit were analyzed with SAS 9.4 software. The management under chemical fertilization combined with 3.00 t ha-1 of bokashi organic fertilizer had the highest green fruit yield (27.22 t ha-1), while organic fertilization plus bokashi had the lowest yield 13.21 t ha-1. For mature fruit yield, chemical fertilization with the three doses of bokashi showed the highest yields (18.98 to 21.90 t ha-1). The best pepper yields at both fruit stages were with chemical management plus organic bokashi fertilizer, while organic management plus bokashi fertilizer recorded the lowest yields.
