Retraction Policy

Retraction Policy

Retraction is a scientific publishing procedure that is not intended to punish authors, but rather to protect the integrity of the literature and correct the scientific record. In this way, the reproduction of information that has become invalid for any reason is prevented.

Ecosistemas y Recursos Agropecuarios adheres to the retraction guidelines established by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Among others, the following are considered grounds for retraction:

  • Omission of animal welfare protocols, informed consent when people are research subjects, or required environmental permits.
  • Unauthorized use of third-party materials, data, or intellectual property; for example, biological patents, genetic sequences of crops, or environmental databases, without the explicit consent of their rightful creators or owners.
  • Alteration, falsification, or fabrication of data or experimental results.
  • Submission of previously published findings without proper reference or permission, which may constitute plagiarism or self-plagiarism.
  • Inclusion of authors without actual contribution or undeclared conflicts of interest.
  • Unethical and/or undeclared use of generative AI or other similar tools.

In accordance with COPE guidelines, retraction notices issued by this journal will be published promptly and will be clearly linked to the retracted article, indicating who is retracting the paper and the specific reasons for doing so.

Ecosistemas y Recursos Agropecuarios guarantees full transparency toward the scientific community it serves.
