Special issue: "Territorial Transformations in Latin America: Social Justice, Sustainability, and Governance"

2026-07-07

In a context of profound social, environmental, and territorial transformations, it is essential to create spaces for reflection and scientific dissemination that contribute to understanding the challenges faced by Latin American territories. Inequalities, socio-environmental conflicts, and tensions between development and sustainability require critical and interdisciplinary approaches that articulate science, society, and territory.

In this regard, considering the relevance of journals included in the Sistema Nacional de Publicaciones Científicas y Humanísticas (SNPCyH) of the Secretaría de Ciencia, Humanidades, Tecnología e Innovación (SECIHTI), as well as in the Journal Citation Reports (JCR) index, submissions are invited for the Special Issue Territorial Transformations in Latin America: Social Justice, Sustainability, and Governance of the journal Ecosistemas y Recursos Agropecuarios (ERA), under the following considerations:

Original and unpublished contributions will be received in the form of research articles and scientific notes on the following topics:

1)  Tourism, heritage, and socio-spatial transformations.

2)  Inequalities, violence, and territorial justice.

3)  Rural and agrarian processes in transformation.

4)  Migration, displacement, and territorial reconfiguration.

5)  Public policies, governance, and collective action.

6)  Territories, territorialities, and collective memories.

7)  Geospatial technologies and territorial analysis (GIS).

According to the editorial policies of ERA, literature reviews are not accepted in special issues.

Contributions must be written in accordance with the ERA journal’s Author Guidelines and submitted through editorial management system (https://era.ujat.mx/index.php/rera) using the journal template. In addition, a signed letter of originality and request for possible publication must be attached by the authors, specifying that the contribution is being submitted to the Special Issue Territorial Transformations in Latin America: Social Justice, Sustainability, and Governance. This must also be explicitly indicated in the “Comments for the Editor” section of the journal’s OJS platform.
