        Abstract

In January 2023, wilting symptoms were observed on fig trees (Ficus carica) in a commercial orchard in Ramos Arizpe, Coahuila, Mexico, including chlorosis, low growth and root galls. The objective was to identify the nematodes associated with these symptoms. Soil and root samples were collected, in which Meloidogyne incognita was identified in 55.5% of the analized roots, by the perineal pattern of females which is the first record of this species in fig trees in Coahuila and Mexico. Nematodes of the genera Rhabditis, Aphelenchoides, Dorylaimus, Tylenchus, Psylenchus and Helicotylenchus were also found. This result shows the need for phytosanitary monitoring in fig crops and provides relevant information for their integrated management.
