    Abstract

The aim was to evaluate the nutraceutical quality of tomato grape (Solanum lycopersicum) produced under shade house conditions using different organic substrates. Five treatments (four substrates under organic nutrition, and one control substrate under inorganic chemical nutrition) were applied. The organic nutrition substrates were blends of organic fertilizers with inert materials. The organic fertilizer materials were: vermicompost, solarized bovine manure, and mineralized compost; and the inert materials were sanitized river sand, perlite, and pumice stone. The evaluated variables were: Total content of phenolics, flavonoids, and lycopene; and antioxidant capacity. The grape tomate fruits produced using the substrate composed by Sand and 15% of vermicompost had the highest content of lycopene and antioxidant capacity. Hence it is recommended using organic substrates formulated with vermicompost for obtaining organic tomato grape with a high nutraceutical quality.
